Fairy tale weddings. In the 1950s, Princess Grace was the bride of the decade, in a gown designed by Helen Rose. In the 1980s, the bride was of course, Princess Diana. David and Elizabeth Emanuel are best known for creating the poufy taffeta confection Princess Di wore to be wed to her frog. Both Diana and the Emanuels had a penchant for ruffles, so it was a match made in heaven - at least as far as the wedding gown went. Their trademark ruffle is present on this beautiful dress, a quasi-flamenco style with a double ruffled hemline. Very fitted and curvy, with an exaggerated and padded raglan shoulder, and a triple row of covered buttons at the wrist. Salmon pink and white Mirņ-esque design on silk crepe de chine, the dress is fully lined in white silk crepe. We show the dress with and without the leather backed fabric belt, that has unfortunately discolored somewhat. The seam at the waist is inconspicuous in the print, and can thus effectively be worn without the belt. Much of the Emanuel's designs were made to order, and their work remains exquisite and unique. Except for the belt, the dress is in excellent condition. Bust measures 36", waist 27", hip 37", shoulder 16", sleeve 21", length 36". $235
