1970s Gucci PVC Rain Coat

The more we see of vintage Gucci pieces, the more we cannot bear the modern ones.  Really, whether you are referring to purses, shoes or clothes, there is simply no comparison between old and new Gucci in our book.  Case in point:  Look at this coat, for crying out loud!  A fabulous trench coat done in a butterscotch colored cotton backed PVC with a semi-crinkled wet look.  Lightweight, sleek Gucci styling, without any of those details that tend to clutter an otherwise clean line.  Simple sash tie at the waist; single welted breast pocket and a flap pocket at either hip; a pleat off the back of each shoulder; and a belted sleeve cuff, the belt having a gold toned buckle with a 'G' on it. Okay, so now for the 'bad' news - it ain't perfect.  There is a faint red discoloration on the right shoulder area, and one of the cuff belts appears to have been shrunk - it's about 2" shorter, 1/8th inch narrower and slightly stiffer than the other - not obvious unless you hold the two straps right next to each other. Otherwise, it's an excellent piece.  bust measures 42", waist 45", hip 47", shoulder 16", sleeve 20.5", length 43". $185
