1940s Velvet Opera Coat with Rabbit Collar

This gorgeous black velvet (feels like a silk velvet - incredibly soft and supple) opera coat has a rabbit fur collar sheared to mimic ermine, and a darned good imitation it is. Wrap style with a tie at the inside waist and single self-covered button closure at the waist to the left of center, and features a full leg-o-mutton sleeve. Lined in ivory, it bears a Halle Bros Co. label and measures Bust  35", waist 28, shoulder 14", sleeve 25", length 59".  Best on a  modern size 4 or slender 6. Excellent condition.  $385
