1970s Young Edwardian Charcoal Midi Coat

During the Edwardian revival of  the 1970s, British designers like Ossie Clark, Alice Pollock, Thea Porter and Barbara Hulanicki (Biba) were dressing rock star's wives and girlfriends in clothes that were very much of the period. At home in California, clothing manufacturer Arpeja was cranking out their versions under the Young Edwardian and Young Innocent labels. Arpeja afforded girls who, in their lifetimes, might only come as close to rock royalty as a concert at the local sports arena, to at least dress the part. A double breasted midi coat, the vibe is not as Goth and heavy as it would be in solid black, it's fashioned in a dark charcoal gray acrylic blend fabric patterned with a faint white chalkstripe. Horizontal seaming at the shoulder gives it structure and a little bit of a pouf. Detailed with a faux  hanky pocket at the breast, patch pockets at either hip, and a 20" long back vent. Bust 36", waist 32", hip 36", shoulder 14", sleeve 25", 43" in length. Fully lined and in excellent condition. $155
