1940s Black Wool Swing Coat with Crochet Trim

Now this is a gorgeous coat.  In black felted wool, the seams are all crochet finished, and accented with a crocheted slit at the front of the shoulder, and in bands around the split cuff. Has a single ball and loop closure below the stand up collar.  The longer sleeve length and split in the cuff indicate to us that the cuff is designed to be turned back, and you can sure do that, but you tend to lose a little of the peek-a-boo effect of the sleeve when it's turned back, so we kinda prefer it down, in all its crocheted glory.  The sides are slit as well, and finished with a crochet whipstitch.  Unlined (duh, that would defeat the effect of the crochet)  the fabric is warm without being bulky and has a lovely drape. Lightly padded shape to the shoulder (however, removable if you hate them).  Bust 40", hip 42", shoulder 15", sleeve 17" cuffed 23" down; length 34". Excellent condition. $310
