1970s Bonnie Cashin Poplin Coat with Attached Bag

There are few designers who, when they designed for 'lesser' fashion manufacturers, designed with the same meticulousness and eye to design that they saved for their main labels.  Halston was one, and Bonnie Cashin another.  This brown canvas coat, designed by Cashin for Russ Taylor Weatherwear, this coat has touches you'd find in Cashin's coats for Sills & Co.  Brown poplin is lined in tan fleece, with discreet brown snaps in front instead of turnlocks.  It shows Cashin's penchant for oversized pockets, and even has a roomy hidden bag with a snap close frame attached to the inside. Bust 44", hip 48", shoulder 17.5", sleeve (without turning back the cuff) 24", length 45". One small dark dot above the right breast (last photo), otherwise in excellent condition.  $340
