1950s Celanese 'Technicolor' Tent Coat |

Want a coat of many colors? This one should last a lifetime or two. A subtle shimmery rainbow of colors in Celanese Celaperm acetate, the hang tag proudly proclaims that this coat is resistant to fading as the color is sealed into the fiber. Well, we're buying it - the colors are as rich as they were when this baby came off the cutting table. The fabric has a lustrous look of silk shantung and is somewhat crisp in hand with nice drapability. Chevron striped in a simple tent style with a raglan shoulder and a cuffed sleeve, it has an inseam pocket on the right hip and closes with mauve toned buttons in buttonholes slanted to complement the diagonal stripe of the fabric. Unlined, this coat is extraordinarily lightweight and hand washable, which makes it perfect for travel. But keep it away from the nail polish remover. Bust to 44", hip to 58", sleeve (center back to cuff) 27", total length 39". Best on a modern 6/8. With the exception of a pinhole on the left breast and a few in the back lower part of the coat, this is in excellent, unworn condition with the original manufacturers hang tag. $95
